Hometown Christmas

Event Description

In 1990 we started Hometown Christmas to bring more people to the area. The event was held downtown for a number of years and as time went by it became bigger and better. We loved having it downtown but after several years of on again off again inclement weather it began to make it harder to plan and after many long talks about the pros and cons we decided to move the event to the Fairgrounds where everything could be under cover and out of the elements.

This festival brings approximately 4000 people to DeFuniak Springs on a single day. We try to have something for everyone at this event with entertainment, delicious food vendors, children's activities, giveaways and last but not least the children can get a visit with Santa Claus!

Our vendors offer a wide variety of handmade craft items and until recently that is all that we would allow. We decided to change that policy within the last couple of years and now we have decided to allow businesses in on the fun too. Our members get a reduced fee booth to sell their products or give away promotional information. We strongly encourage all of our business community to take advantage of the opportunity to advertise at this event. The fees we charge our crafters helps to pay for our Fourth of July celebration, our business expenses and the insurance that we carry on all of our events.

Hometown Christmas is always held the Saturday following Thanksgiving at the Walton County Fairgrounds.
